Royal Oaks resident Don McMillan satisfied a lifelong dream to experience seeing and fishing the Montana Bob Marshall Wilderness for Native West Slope Cutthroat Trout. The trip was special because his grandson, J. D., & his brother-in-law, Al, shared the experience with Don.
The Southwest is the keeper of America's best-preserved and most compelling archaeological treasures. Royal Oaks residents spent a week learning about cliff dwellings, visiting a Navajo reservation, going to Canyon De Chelly and Chaco Canyon, and exploring the architecture of Pueblo Bonito, Chetro Ketl, and the Great Kiva of Casa Rinconada.
The talented residents at Royal Oaks now have a Gallery to display their work and also create more art amidst the beauty of their friends contributions.
Each year, departments in Royal Oaks try to out do one another by having the best decorated holiday door.

To celebrate the 30th Anniversary of the Royal Oaks campus, the community participated in a Throwback to the '80s Event. Richard Simmons, Michael Jackson, MC Hammer, and others entertained the crowd. The residents did a dance to a Michael Jackson song while the management team cut the rug as MC Hammer.
