Staffing Coordinator - Health Services
This is a full time, benefit eligible position, has some variability in schedule requirements including on premise and off premise responsibilities (partial work from home/remote opportunity). Competency and at least a year experience with staffing requirements, processes and compliance in healthcare industry will be best suited for this opportunity.
Under the direction of the Health Services Manager manages plans and organizes the staffing schedules for Health Services departments, Ensures that minimum staffing requirements are maintained in each department area.
Major Duties and Responsibilities:
Maintains adequate staffing for all direct care positions; licensed, certified nursing assistant, caregivers and administrative positions when needed.
Ensures staffing coverage in all specified health care areas 24-hours a day and schedules PRNs as needed; according to special requests, vacations, sick leave, department changes, leaves of absence, etc., as they are received.
Utilizes the electronic scheduling system to maintain schedules, including approval and documentation of PTO, leaves and transfers.
Maintains budgeted Hours Per Patient Day according to census and acuity as directed by the Director of Health Services.
Knowledge and Skills:
Knowledge of human resources concepts, practices, policies and procedures.
Skilled in interviewing techniques.
Knowledge of planning and scheduling techniques
Advanced effective people/project management skills.
Demonstrated ability to facilitate team work.
Strong communication performance, both written and verbal including oral presentation skills.
Positive and proactive attitude, accepting challenges and able to motivate others. Excellent oral, written, presentation and interpersonal skills.
Computer proficiency-- Microsoft Word/Excel, Outlook and Internet.
Organized, able to multi-task, think creatively and adapt to different situations.
Education and Experience:
Preferably a two year degree from an accredited college or university.
Preferably two years of experience performing Staffing related tasks in a health care environment or a combination of education, training and experience that would ensure the effective execution of the duties of the job.
Has CPR certification card, First Aid certification card, and Fingerprint card or is willing to obtain within 30 days of hire.
